Santa Cruz police said they have arrested a man for peeping into the second-story window of a woman's apartment.

Randy Newman, 27, of Santa Cruz, was arrested in the 100 block of Shelter Lagoon Drive just after 12 a.m. Friday, said police.

Police said the victim saw Newman looking into her bedroom from a nearby tree.

Responders said they found him hiding behind a utility box next door.

He was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on charges of loitering and prowling on private property.
