A substitute teacher in the Pajaro Valley Unified School District has been accused of using five boys to satisfy a fetish.

Michael John Codde, 43, has been charged with five felony counts for incidents involving 9- and 10-year-old boys.

Police officials would not comment on what the fetish was, but they did say that Codde had the five boys play some games that were not appropriate. They also said that he did not touch the boys in a sexual way, but that they did find child pornography on his home computer.

Codde was a substitute teacher primarily at Ann Soldo Elementary School in Watsonville, but police say none of the alleged victims were students.

Neighbors told Action News that Codde lived with a family that has children. They also said the family was shocked when hearing the news of the arrest and quickly moved his things out Thursday.

Police said that one of the boys who is involved in the case told his mother about the games, and she called the authorities.

Investigators said the crimes took place between September and last week.

Codde pleaded not guilty Friday to five counts of child molestation.
