ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Several large homes in an upscale area of Orange County are being destroyed in a landslide.
It's happening in the community of Anaheim Hills, where some residents have been evacuated.
In the early-morning hours Monday, a multi-million dollar home under construction partially collapsed. The home is one of three mansions in the neighborhood being destroyed in a slow-moving landslide that officials said was caused by the recent storms that pounded Southern California."We have to continue to study it. We have to make sure people stay away from the area. Streets are closed and mainly just to protect everything that is up here already," City of Anaheim spokesman John Nicoletti said.Over the weekend, President George W. Bush declared Southern California a federal disaster area, clearing the way for federal assistance in the area's hardest hit by the storms.
