SEASIDE, Calif. -- Stage four of the Amgen Tour of California bike race will get under way from Seaside Thursday morning, and businesses are getting ready for the crowds.

Hundreds are expected to turn out to cheer on the riders, and the city of Seaside is hoping they'll bring a steady rush of business with them.

Nearly 200 world class cyclists are participating in the eight-day, 700-mile race from Santa Rosa to Long Beach.

Seaside has been preparing for this international event for months and officials said they are ready.

Road signs have been put up letting people know the riders are coming and businesses said they are doing well as a result of this attraction.

"We do know all of the hotels are booked for Wednesday evening and we anticipate a few people will stay over and spend a beautiful weekend in the city of Seaside," Seaside Deputy City Manager Jill Anderson said.

The race starts at City Hall just before 10 a.m.

All main streets leading to Canyon Del Rey will be partially closed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Proceeds from the event will go toward the care and treatment of cancer.

Levi Leipheimer, of Santa Rosa, remianed the overall race leader after Wednesday's third stage, which ended in San Jose.
